Let’s first peep in what these two words “Talent” and “Hard work,” or to put it as talent vs. hard work what they all mean.

What Is Talent?

According to Wikipedia, talent is the skill that someone naturally does something extraordinary. It’s an inborn quality that one can possess with little to no practice. For example, if someone sings well, he/she could be a talented musician or artist.

So, you can describe talent as an inherent trait. People say they are “born with a talent.” It is a high degree of ability or aptitude. Someone who has talent can do something without trying as hard as others.

What Is Hard Work?

On the other hand, hard work is the basis for everything worthwhile you will achieve in life. If work is applying your ability, then hard work affects your ability with focus and intensity to the exclusion of other possibilities.  Thus hard work and success complement each other significantly.

One of the powerful quotes of Albert Einstein says, “Genius is 1% talent and 99% percent hard work.”

The above statement originates from one of the masters of his time. His work was also known for influencing the philosophy of science. I completely agree that hard work is more vital than talent.

Over the years, researchers have discovered that the tendency to work hard is a significant component. It makes it an intellectual ability and can help foresee success in a variety of complex activities.

Hard Work Beats Talent

Few people are usually skilled and talented, while others are giving their best to be equal. In my opinion, only with a decent work ethic; you can achieve many things in life.  “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.”

Albert Einstein and many inventors had put tremendous effort into getting to the genius levels. Let’s say even if they had an inborn talent, they still wouldn’t have become masters in their field unless they had worked hard and showed persistence.

Having talent doesn’t imply that you don’t need to work hard to be effective. No one is perfect, and there is continually something that individuals need to work hard for success.

In any case, does talent make life less demanding?

Yet when you work at something, decides whether your talent is valuable. Taking everything into account, talent, and hard work together can get an individual to progress

It is more like talent vs. hard work where hard work is the key factor, and putting more exertion can lead you to progress.  That way, the achievement could be tougher since “Practice makes man consummate.”

We’ve all heard that hard work is the way to progress. The “significantly skilled” still has the edge over companions who have the average talent yet are more devoted to enhancing their aptitudes.

Why Do Talented People Work Even Harder?

For instance, you have the motivation, yet you don’t work hard, it’s impractical to get anywhere. It has been proven that it is good to depend on hard work than dependent only on talent.

You may have expertise in a few fields. But in the event, if you don’t rehearse for quite a while, you will most likely be unable to perform well. This is the reason talented competitors usually take a long period of exertion to become better.

Have you encountered the energy of talent over hard work?

Or on the other hand, have you discovered that achievement goes to the individual willing to invest the most energy and push to accomplish it?

Talent is like a freshly mined gold in its raw state. It doesn’t shine so brightly. It is not as valuable as its final stage compared to later when people see its shiny golden-yellow color.

This is the reason why talented competitors put a long period of exertion by and by to better themselves. The purification process it undergoes gets linked to hard work.

If you are unwilling to put in the work to harvest and cultivate your talent, then the talent itself is essentially useless. Hard work and perseverance will beat out pure talent any day.

Talent gives you a head start, but hard work makes you finish the race.

Therefore, if talent and hard work go hand in hand, it provides better results. If you are lucky to be born with the brains capable of potential genius, you cannot become a true genius without motivation.

This is where hard work comes into the picture. Anyone can have an idea, vision, or dream, but it takes that 99% of hard-working attitude to make it closer to becoming a reality.

Talent gives you a head start, but hard work makes you finish the race.  We can easily say that hard work beats talent in many ways. Hard work is surely a winner when we look at both in terms of talent vs. hard work.

Concluding Thoughts,

The only apparent variant is the conclusion that when a talented person works incessantly as hard as possible, he is very likely to be successful and happy.  So for him, hard work and success are both sides of the same coin.

In sports, we have seen a lot of talented sportsmen and women who outshine their peers. They perform amazingly well, and their names get written in gold in our hearts as we cheer them to victory.

But we don’t try to research how they become outstanding; if we dig deeper, we would see that they work hard putting in regular exercise, training, and intense drilling to keep up the pace.

They wouldn’t have achieved this feat without the combination of both. So it is not talent vs. hard work all the time, both are important, but yes, hard work has the upper hand.

In conclusion, talent is excellent, and hard work is fantastic. But you cannot rely on your talent alone to be successful. Whatever career you choose, you will need both, which makes them inevitable and should go together to achieve outstanding results.
