Acting since the age of six, Craig had to sleep on park benches in London at times, before his career took off. It’s hard to believe, but true. This 007 actor is now worth an estimate of $65 million.
Halle Berry – American Actress and a Former Fashion Model
The only woman as of 2015 to have won an Oscar in the leading role category stayed in a homeless shelter in her early 20’s. Her journey from a struggling actor to a historic winner was not so easy. The path was filled with a list of failed marriages, rough relationships, and a suicide attempt. Determination is what keeps a person going. Halle Berry is no less than an example for that.
Jennifer Lopez – The American Multi Talent
Jennifer Lopez moved out when she was 18, as her mother wanted her to go to college but Jennifer wanted to be a dancer. She slept on the sofa of her dance studio. Today the 45-year-old singer, actress, producer, and designer is worth an estimated $300 million.
Charlie Chaplin – Entertainer of the Era
Charlie’s mother was committed to a mental asylum and his father’s cruelty was so bad that the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children had to intervene at one point. Living a life in the Central London District School for paupers, Charlie found his way in the world by learning to perform. And no wonder he is the best ever entertainer of the era and will always be cherished.

Self-belief must have been hard when she first moved to LA from her home in Texas, though. Struggling to find her own self, this lady went on switching jobs and when the only apartment that she could afford went up in flames at one point, she was forced to sleep on the streets.
Ella Fitzgerald – Queen of Jazz Music
She was abused by her stepfather at an young age and stayed homeless before which she worked with Mafia. Ella ran away from school and made her debut in 1934 which gained her fame. She went on to win 13 Grammy Awards and receive medals from both President Reagan and George H.W. Bush. Later after her death, her face appeared on a U.S. postal stamp in 2007.

Steve Jobs – Redefining “Apple”
Steve Jobs dropped out of Reed College because he did not want his parents to spend on his expensive education, and he slept on the floor of his friends’ dorms and returned Coke Bottles to manage food money. Every Sunday night, he walked 7 miles to savour weekly good meals at a local temple located across the town.
Hilary Swank – Oscar Winning Actor
Hilary Swank’s extraordinary story begins in a trailer park on the outskirts of LA, being born to a young, 15 year-old mother. Before landing roles in acting, she and her mom lived in a car and stayed in an empty house for a few months.
She had a friend who was selling her house who let them stay there at night. And then, during the day, you have to leave so the house can be sold. Hilary blew up the air mattresses and slept on it, and left in the morning. She went on to win two Oscars by age 30 and is now worth an estimated $40 million.
Jim Carrey – Great Hollywood Comedian
When he was 15, his father lost his job, forcing the family to move out of their home and into a VW van parked on the street. Reports say that that this comedian dropped out of high school and lived in a VW bus with his family parked in different places throughout Canada. They eventually moved into a tent on his older sister’s lawn and parked the van in the driveway. Carrey said it was during these tough financial times growing up when he developed a remarkable sense of humor.
Today, Jim Carrey owns a Boeing 707 and multiple homes worth millions. He didn’t always have a home to go to, though. It took years of hard work for Carrey to find a steady paycheck as a comedian.

Chris Gardner – The Pursuit of Happiness
Gardner was living on the streets with his young son and his salary was not sufficient to afford daycare for his son and food for two. At the time, he was trying to pursue a career in finance despite not having any experience in it, or even a college degree. He is also a motivational speaker and CEO of Gardner Rich LLC with offices in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Life places terrible challenges before every one. At the end of the day, its not money that makes these people as “superstar’s” or “celebrities”. It’s the determination and passion that they held, no matter what came across as hindrance.
